Fine Arts Day

A celebration of Shawnigan creativity

Awash in colour and song, Shawnigan enjoyed a celebration of the arts on Wednesday.

The day began with a morning chapel service presenting Fine Arts Colours and major awards.

After classes, students and staff gathered in and around the Hobbies Building for the annual Fine Arts Fair. The proceedings included a fashion show (from members of the sewing group), film screenings and fly fishing demos, as well as perennial favourites such as the sidewalk chalk drawing competition, the robotics demonstration, and the open mic event.

In the evening, performing artists presented back-to-back Fine Arts Concerts, with elements ranging from stop-motion animations to song and dance to a sneak peak of the upcoming Grade 8 presentation of Shrek.
