Outdoor Adventures

Newcastle Island
It was a beautiful but chilly weekend for the final Outdoors camping expedition of the term to nearby Newcastle Island.

The island is home to a provincial park, beautiful coastal hiking along sandstone cliffs, and a variety of interesting wildlife including birds, seals and otters.

In addition to hiking and exploring the island on foot, the students enjoyed some peaceful kayaking and were in charge of the food, creating some delicious pizzas over an open fire.

We acknowledge with respect the Coast Salish Peoples on whose traditional lands and waterways we live, learn and play. We are grateful for the opportunity to share in this beautiful region, and we aspire to healthy and respectful relationships with those who have lived on and cared for these lands for millennia.
