"MyShawnigan"

Listening to the student voice
Shawnigan students had the opportunity to lend their voices to the conversation around the School’s mission and values on Wednesday afternoon during a special x-block schedule. While grade 12 students took part in a university guidance session, students in grades 8-11 focused on the future of Shawnigan Lake School.

Following an introductory presentation by Headmaster Lamont in the Chapel, students and staff broke into groups across the campus. Staff advisors paired up, forming discussion groups with their combined advisees. These groups were given several questions to consider together, and by the end of the session, stimulating conversations had occurred and much valuable feedback had been gathered. By the end of January, all students (including grade 12s) will have been given the opportunity to engage in discussing what we should value going forward in the Shawnigan community.

It is so important for our students to contribute to the articulation of a strong sense of shared purpose for Shawnigan.
