Valentine’s Dinner

A special night in support of EDGE Costa Rica
The Friesen Centre was abuzz on Friday afternoon as students decorated and cooked for a Valentine’s fundraising dinner. Mr. Elskens was in charge of the kitchen and food prep – guiding students through the creation of unforgettable cuisine and donating his time to the cause. Chelsie W. played a lead role in the organizing, serving and entertaining (joining the talented MacKinley B. on several songs during her four-hour gig). We are hoping that you can feel the incredible ambiance students prepared for two seatings of friends through the photos above.

The profit from this special dinner will go to the Costa Rica EDGE trip. The EDGE students, alongside leaders Mr. Loiselle and Ms Cholack, worked especially well together, building a great team well in advance of their adventure. Of course, the silent engine running the event was Mr. Dukelow. Ms Cholack notes that, “He really spearheaded the whole thing. He makes it possible to keep costs low so that EDGE reaps as many rewards as possible. It was his vision and he graciously took us along for the ride.”

Those unable to attend the dinner have been consoled by an abundance of healthy and delicious snack foods on offer between 10:00am and 3:30 pm every weekday in Mr. Elskens’ new Friesen Centre Deli. He reports that his top seller last week was the nutritious smoothie.
