Grade 8s hear from a local optometrist
Our grade 8 class recently received a special guest speaker. In their science classes this term, the grade 8s are studying vision and eye anatomy, and so Ms. Robson, one of our Science 8 teachers, invited Dr. Trevor Miranda, a local optometrist, to speak to the group.

These students were in for a treat, as Dr. Miranda shared not only his experiences working in the field of science, but also his expertise as a business owner and his involvement with a charity that distributes recycled eyeglasses in the developing world. After hearing from Dr. Miranda, the Grade 8 Roundtable was inspired to set up a used eyeglasses collection to contribute to the cause and to express their thanks to Dr. Miranda.

We were so grateful to have this wonderful opportunity to connect our students with a member of our wider community. Thank you, Dr. Miranda, for sharing your time with us!
