Model UN delegates confer in Vancouver
Twenty Shawnigan Model UN team delegates participated at the Vancouver Model United Nations conference, Jan. 20-22.

Highlights included an inspirational opening ceremony speech from Dr. Samantha Nutt, a medical doctor and founder of the internationally renowned non-profit, War Child.

VMun includes a midnight crisis which develops from midnight to 3 a.m., which makes for an intense weekend. However, our delegates all enjoyed their roles as country ambassadors and benefited from an exciting weekend of debating and consensus building.

A huge "shout out" to Cassia N., who did a tremendous job of preparing for and directing the UNDP committee. We invite you to peruse her background guide HERE.

Although winning is not central to a positive Model UN experience, Zain K. was recognized with the Best Delegate award in the UNEP and Sam Postuk was named Outstanding Delegate in the Joint Crisis Committee.
