Exhibits on and off campus

Midway through a busy year, many of Shawnigan's visual artists have been displaying their creations in public settings.

During the run of In the Heights, the School's fine art department once again hung an array of work on the walls of the McPherson Playhouse.

The exhibit featured scores of paintings, sketches and photos by students from all grades, giving young artists exposure to the entire School community as well as Victoria theatre-goers.

More recently, four AP Studio Art contributors created a gallery of work in the Shaw Centre for Science. Head of Curricular Fine Art Don Rolston says the four senior artists, Sammy L., Amica P., Wenfang Z. and Jessica K. initiated the exhibit themselves, as a way to showcase some of the pieces they have been working on in advance of their graduation.
