Travel Advisory

Winter weather at Shawnigan
Shawnigan Parents,

Please note that we are monitoring the weather situation very closely and are working on contingency plans should we need to make changes due to extreme weather.

At 4:00 pm today (Tuesday) we will have updates posted on this page.

In the meantime, please be patient as we work through the logistics of getting students home safely for the holidays.

4:05 pm update:

The 31 students who were scheduled to be on flights departing Victoria between 5:20 am and 8:24 am tomorrow (Wed) will all be leaving the School together at 8:30 pm tonight (Tues).

This will mean a relatively long wait in some cases. However, we feel this is the safest way to insure that these students do not miss their flights.

All students will be accompanied and supervised by a staff member and school leader at the airport until their departure.

All other travel arrangements are currently continuing as planned, with all of tomorrow's departures now set to leave 30 minutes earlier than previously scheduled (to allow for congestion and adverse road conditions).

Please bear with us as we deal with these rapidly changing weather conditions, and know that we are doing our best to insure student safety and well-being.
