The Grade 10 experience at Shawnigan is the catalyst for students to choose their path freely and courageously as they begin to specialize and refine the passions they will pursue in their senior years and beyond. The individual emerges as they reflect on experiences of the past and their place in relation to others, and they chart their individual journey forward.Academic Excellence: Specialist foci such as the Shawnigan House of Commons, Global Goals conference, and English streams ranging from literary studies to new media help develop agency and ensure students participate in authentic learning experience driven by their own areas of interest.
Co-curricular Distinction: Independent living on offer during Ski Week and a multitude of local and international student-led EDGE service trips ensure transformational experiences built around adventure and engagement with local communities.
Student Life Unparalleled: Integration into student leadership and advisory groups, agency around the shape of community celebrations, and growing autonomy help Grade 10 students gain confidence in taking increasing levels of responsibility for themselves and others.
