Grade 12 - Inspire
The Grade 12 experience at Shawnigan is the chance for students to give back as they have developed the ability and character to inspire their community in very different personal ways that are usually connected to the areas that have inspired them over the years. This expression of gratitude through their actions is an inspiration to future classes.Academic Excellence: In partnership with our Guidance Office, students are inspired to seek fulfilling, challenging and ambitious opportunities for post-secondary study, and in turn offer inspiration to their younger peers through the sharing of special projects and events that capture expressions of academic growth.
Co-curricular Distinction: Through their personal interests, active contributions and co-curricular leadership, our Grade 12s leave a legacy of creativity and curiosity exhibited through activities like Capstone projects and self-directed Soul Seeking ventures that benefit present and future Shawnigan students.
Student Life Unparalleled: School and community events initiated and organized by Grade 12 students enrich their own and others’ experiences of Shawnigan while lasting connections built within Houses, grade groups and the wider School support and encourage our Grade 12s as they transition to the world beyond our gates.
We acknowledge with respect the Coast Salish Peoples on whose traditional lands and waterways we live, learn and play. We are grateful for the opportunity to share in this beautiful region, and we aspire to healthy and respectful relationships with those who have lived on and cared for these lands for millennia.
Shawnigan Lake School is an independent co-educational boarding school for ages 13 –18 on Canada’s beautiful Pacific Coast. Our diverse, interdisciplinary and innovative programming helps shape the next generation of global leaders.
