Colts win Provincial Rugby Sevens

Shawnigan's junior boys have earned the School's second Provincial title of the year.

Held at St. George's School in Vancouver on Saturday, the 2018 B.C. Junior Boys Rugby Sevens Championship came one week after the senior boys captured their own Provincial sevens crown.

The Colts secured a berth in Saturday's Cup playoffs thanks to round robin victories over West Vancouver, South Delta, and W.J. Mouat. In perhaps the toughest game of the tournament, Shawnigan prevailed 28-12 over Earl Marriott in the Cup semifinals. The team then finished the job with a convincing win over SMUS in the championship game.

"We were successful because of how hard these boys worked in their preparation," says Colts Coach Ander Monro, pointing to a complete team effort. "When the big moments came in the big games, everyone was connected and we were tough enough to deal with our competitors."
