Shawnigan's senior tennis team has added another chapter to a long-standing tradition of excellence.
Playing at the Provincial Championship May 24-26 in Burnaby, the team fought to a 4th-place finish out of 12 teams competing. Seeded fourth overall heading into the tournament, Shawnigan lost to Collingwood in the semifinals, as the Cavs went on to win their 10th straight title.
"It was a great effort from the entire team," says Coach John Picken, who took the program over this year after the retirement of longtime Coach Stewart Candelaria.
2018 marked Shawnigan's 7th consecutive appearance at the Provincial AA Championship.
