Prep House Pin Day

House alumni get recognition
Prep House graduates are displaying an extra bit of sparkle on their blazers this week, after being honoured at the School’s second annual Prep pinning ceremony, Wednesday night.

Prep pins in the form of a small wearable ‘P’ (with a dragon tail) are presented in recognition of successes the previous academic year (2018-2019). Fourteen proud Prep alumni joined 14 current students for the staff-led presentation.

Only 28 of these prestigious pins are now affixed to Shawnigan blazers. The pin award was created by Damon K. (current Lonsdale's grade 11, Prep alumni) during his 2017-2018 year.

With blazers pinned and honours bestowed, students, staff and Headmaster Lamont concluded the evening with pizza, soft drinks, and dessert.

The Shawnigan Preparatory Program, or "Prep," is an innovative academic curriculum built specifically to prepare international students for a thriving career at the School and beyond. This year, Prep is home to eight boys and six girls, hailing from China, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, and Hong Kong.

Special thanks to Prep staff, Ms Edgson, Ms Robb, Ms Yang, Mr. Brown, Mrs. Ketch, Mr. Stephens, and Ms. Urzua for organizing this special event.
