The New Face of Shawnigan

Wearing our masks
Shawnigan students are doing a great job of observing new protocols during this pandemic. Wearing face masks has become the norm at School and around campus. Although a bit more relaxed in Houses, students still sport masks when they are in close proximity, like House meetings or outside cohort groupings. It’s not something any of us imagined last September, but we are all embracing the new reality of protecting ourselves and others.

In Chapel on Saturday, The Reverend Holland challenged us to think about masks in new ways: “Our physical masks protect us from germs, but our facial masks can protect us emotionally.”

Watch the Chapel video below to learn about the “complicated metaphors” with which we mask ourselves.

Shawnigan Lake School is adhering to all COVID-19 guidelines released by the BC Ministries of Health and Education, including those regarding learning cohorts, physical distancing and mask-wearing when appropriate.
